Haven't been to a movie in the theatre since september of 2008... They all seem to make my head go bonkers- with the motion and the sound and not being able to focus on one thing...
Oh- and did I mention that this was an ACTION movie- so I really had to deal with movement, lights and combinations of space-like actions (went to see Star Trek) I can go back to the movies! Woo-hoo! (not that I have the money, but it's nice to know that I can go with friends and not get sick!) A definite success story for me! Jamie Forum Moderator |

YIPPEEE!!! It really is aweful when a migraine or the potential trigger of one limits what we can do. That is great that you can now go out and have a good time with out the worry!

Did you like the movie as much as you liked being able to stay at the movie?
I wasn't ever really a big Star Trek fan, especially in terms of the old, original series. I did see a small handful of the newer Star Trek shows, when Patrick Stewart was captain and they had the Borg and all, as well as a couple of the movies from the later '80s or so. I did think the Borg were pretty cool. I was much more a Star Wars fan, though (which, incidently, I never did see until college). Anyhoo, I have seen the trailers for the new Star Trek, and thought they looked pretty spiffy, even if I'm not really a Trekkie. If it's worth it, I might catch it in the theater after school's out. Good question, my scaly friend! No, I think I might have been one of the few people here that didn't really love the movie. My DH is a big star trek fan, and when we walked out of the theatre, I was smiling from ear to ear ('cause I made it through) and he took it to mean that I loved it. I corrected him and explained why I was smiling... and then he was smiling too. It was a fun movie with lots of logical fallacies in keeping with even the basics of Trekkieness... Like How does a 3rd year cadet become a captain without going through all the steps behind.
Meh. Forgetting logic and going in with a sense of suspended reality would have made it a more fun movie for me... But I went to a movie!! Jamie Forum Moderator |

I love it when you are grinning from ear to ear. It suits you.
Perhaps I'll wait and catch the movie later, on a rental. Unless the movie theater popcorn starts calling too loudly. I think it might be at our brand new 14-plex that opened a week or so ago. Supposedly, the seats there recline and everything. Might be worth it just to check out the new theater. Dragondrool Forum Moderator ~~8=:>>>> |

That's great!!!!! (insert happy, clapping smilie here) LOL
I also don't go to the movies that often because it's usually way too loud for me. I have to REALLY want to see the movie and not be able to wait for DVD. Speaking of which - did anyone read My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult? The movie comes out this month and I can't wait to see it. That is one I'll see in the theater. That and New Moon! Oh how I love Edward! I've been patiently waiting for My Sister's Keeper , too. I read the book not long after it came out. It was my first Picoult book, and definitely not the last. It's one of the very small handful of books I've read in my life that literally made me cry. I bawled for an hour after I finished it. I got pretty misty at the end of the latest Picoult book, too, which I read a couple of months ago.
