My specialist started me on verapamil the last time I saw her. It's supposed to prevent the headache I've been waking up with. It may be beginning to work. I'm waking up pain-free fairly often. It's too early to be sure, and I'm still titrating up to the full prescribed dose, but I'm encouraged.

Y'all may know that I'm WAY overweight. But I've lost 45 pounds in the last 2 years. I've gone from 2x to XL and L, and from size 20 or 22 to size 16 or 14! I'm shopping in the Misses department for the first time in at least 10 years. I've had to buy an entirely new wardrobe. Literally. The only thing I'm wearing that I wore last year is panties and socks. I've already brought a big pile of clothes to the thrift store, and I've got two piles thigh-high that need to go. Yesterday, at my Diet Center weigh-in, I was in the 160s. Just barely, at 169 3/4, but it was the first time out of the 170s. I'd hit a wall at about 173, and it took awhile to break through it.

About 35 pounds to go. I'm planning on being there by my birthday, next February.

Thanks for listening. I'm so excited! And my new clothes are SO cute!

Jamie's right, this is a big success. And in my book, any day without pain is a success in its own right.

I brought some diet-friendly cake for both of your successes - and many more to come. Smiler Birthday Cake

Gretchen,

You've worked so hard to achieve your goals with both your weight and migraine control. You have every reason to be extremely happy and I personally think they are huge successes on your part. Yes

You go girl. You'll be a new pain free woman for your birthday in February.

Thanks for all the encouragement. Wouldn't you know it, my new clothes are for spring and summer. We're having a cold front come through, with highs in the 60s and lows around freezing. I did buy a cute denim jacket, so I can wear something warm.
