Well, after two months of migraine, three weeks on 12.5 mg of topamax, and one week on new birth control, I woke up this morning and actually feel pretty much symptom- and side effect-free! I am so happy! Big Grin Nothing like feeling like caca for a while to make you appreciate just feeling "normal."

I really feel like that birth control (orthotryclen) was an exacerbater there for a while, so now I know to stay away from that forever. I'm now on mircette, which apparently doesn't have such widely varying hormone amounts as orthotryclen.

This is round 2 on topamax. The first week was awful, with such extreme fatigue and my head felt like wet cement. Last year I made it up to 62.5 mg on topamax (cutting a tablet in half obviously), and EVENTUALLY I tolerated it ok. It was rough getting there though. I'll increase to 25 mg soon, and get on the side effect merry-go-round again. It's a necessary evil that I've accepted I need to put up with though. Anyway, it's nice to post under this category at last!! I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel!!

Incredibly spiffy news! Hooray! Smiler

I only have one issue with feeling "normal". Most days I actually feel pretty decent anymore, all things considered. But we get a bit out of practice sometimes with the whole concept of "normal". Sometimes a really stellar day is half over before I even get a chance to really notice it's so good.

I am thrilled for you! Here's hoping for no backsliding! Big Grin
