I figured it doesn't happen very consistently, so I'd post a success. I had a horrible headache yesterday, complete with throbbing, pulse in my ears, and it had all the earmarks of a new, long cycle. When I woke up this morning, I had the all-too-familiar sound of my pulse paired with the feeling of intense pressure that usually precedes a really bad head pain day. And the imitrex injection + ibuprofen combo actually seemed to work this time
 I've had on & off pain most of the day, but pretty low level. Given what I felt coming on this morning and how I felt yesterday, I consider this a relative success, especially since I've been at the computer a lot of the day.Hopefully, tomorrow will continue the improvement. Robin |

Have we talked about Pseudotumor Cerebri (Intracranial Hypertension) before? The pulse in your ears, intense pressure in your head may be linked to it,,,, here is some info on PTC: http://www.helpforheadaches.com/articles/what-ptc.htm I have it as does Teri. Let us know what you think of this info and NO freaking out!!

Yup, I've already talked to my neuro about it, and we're going to talk about it some more when I see him again in a couple weeks. My migraines are so atypical and I so often feel pressure and pulsing that I think this is a real possibility. Plus, the migraines "went chronic" immediately and rather abruptly following a plane flight last summer.

That was my own concoction, even before I heard about the new med. Adding ibuprofen makes just about any pain med better for me, so I thought, why not the abortives? And it does seem to help.
