YEAH ME!!! First of all, I hardly cook anymore - maybe once a week or so. Second, I have not had potatoes au gratin in years, because the ones in the box usually contain triggers!! So last night I looked up a recipe (and yes - i made it to the grocery store - finally!!), and made them today. They were really good, too. Hubby and daughter both really liked them.

Now, I know to the average person, this would be no big deal. But I know you guys will understand how happy I was that I was able to do this and proud of myself! Thumbs Up

My head has been so-so today. Grocery shopping was a little hard on me, but I made it through. And had a pretty decent evening with my family. We cooked together, then watched a movie. Anytime I can spend time with the two most important people in my life, it makes me happy.

My daughter is actually my step-daughter and I keep telling her she really needs to move in with us because she makes me happy and I generally try harder to be out of the bed and active when she is here, since we only see her every 2 weeks.

I hope all of you had a good saturday, too!

I try to cook a lot of things from scratch, since packaged foods have so many triggers. My hubby loves when I make new things, too. Heck, he loves when I make anything - ha ha!!

Birthday Cake I thought I would add some cake to your potato party! I love to just hang out with the family and watch a movie or play a board game.

I know how wonderful it is to not only go shopping but cook afterwards. It is fulfilling and satisfying!!

I got to cook this morning, and it's all dished up and frozen now. I made one of my favorite Moosewood recipes. Found low-salt salsa to go in it. I decided I would cook whenever I felt well enough to do so and had the time; that way if migraines interfere with cooking at times, there will probably be something in the freezer anyway.

Nutcracker-Moosewood? What is that, sounds interesting!

That's a good idea to cook while feeling good. My DH has diabetes so eating out of a can when I am unable to cook is not exactly the best thing for him. The kids love Ravoli night but it gets old pretty fast. That and pizza. Who would have thought a NYer would get tired of pizza?! This one is! Razzer

Yum! I love to cook! I've made potatoes au gratin before - it's soooo goooooood!!!!! I had a recipe once (for the life of me I can't find it now and I'm so upset over it!)

It was potatoes au gratin but with lemon and artichokes - you wouldn't think lemon with all that cream but it was oh so good. I make it a few turkey days back.....but can't find the recipe now. I'd gotten it from a Target catalog of all places! I've checked food network and epicurious for it - found nothing!

If any of y'all know what I'm talking about feel free to send me the recipe! Thumbs Up Thanx

It was awesome!

So glad you got to cook! Plus family time is always time well spent too! Smiler

Moosewood is a vegetarian restaurant in Ithaca, New York. They have a bunch of cookbooks out, some of which I like better than others. The recipe I made this week came from one of my favorite cookbooks, Moosewood Restaurant Low-Fat Favorites.

As far as recipe websites, my favorite is www.allrecipes.com. You could look for a potatoes au gratin recipe on there.
