Ok...I'm a little hesitant to write this, but...I saw the neurologist on Tuesday. We decided to up my Verapamil to 240, and she wanted me to try amitriptyline (I couldn't take Topamax). I wasn't very hopeful since I'd taken Nortriptyline in the past with no effect at all, but I'm always open...
Lo and behold, I took the first dose and within 1 hour I was pain free for the first time in over a week! Fluke?? Not sure, but I've had two doses (and cut last night's in half due to the excessive sleepiness) and I'm still pain free?? (and the weather's been unstable as well)  I am praying that maybe we've stumbled onto the right one!!! I've battled this chronic headache "syndrome" for the past 12 years!! Like all of you, I've been through so many different treatments and therapies and spent so much money looking for answers... It seems almost too simple...the medication I probably should have been prescribed a long long time ago... I'll be hopeful for today... Thanks for allowing me to celebrate with people who truly understand! Kim |
