Migraine

I think I've hit a breaking point. Today is the first in 11 days that I have had pain-free periods without abortive or pain meds I started increasing the topamax last week and am up to 200 mg so far, on the way to 300 if I can tolerate it. No side effects so far, except for being sleepy, but hopefully that will pass like it did before. My doc and I decided to ditch the verapamil because it doesn't seem to be doing anything. We're going to try to get my new insurance company to authorize botox, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's good to get relief. I'm hoping I can tolerate the increased topamax and that it will raise my threshold for these terrible headache cycles.

Good for you. Pain relief is like nothing else, even better than ice cream!! I hope you stay this way for a good long time.

So I had another good day, despite an 11-hour workday that ended with a 2-hour drive. I think the increase in the topamax may already be helping.
