I wanted to comment that I finally got 31 days without a migraine. This's a record for me. Haven't gone this long without a migraine in pretty much ever.

I'm on Topamax to suppress them, have been since last Sept and even when I was on amitriptyline before that, I didn't get this kind of control at all. Even then, the best I'd gotten has been an average of 4-5 migraines a month.

I sure hope this continues, I am liking not having those horrible headaches. The Topamax is not cheap, my copay is very high (150/mo), but at least the cost counts towards my insurance deductible.

It's been a rough road to get to this point, that's for sure, and I am hoping that things will continue to be a bit easier in the headache department, with all the other stress going on right now.

Congratulations!! Big Grin Big Grin

That is a great success! I'm so excited for you. It's wonderful when your treatment plan really shows results. I haven't quite made it to 31 days - though I made it 24 days before this week. I know how much of a relief it is to have so many pain-free days.

I hope you continue to increase your record. Best of luck!!

Thanks for the cakes and the good wishes. Thanx I'm hoping this streak lasts a while. My allergy beast is rearing it's ugly head, and it'll test things, for sure. I'm hoping I'll get a break from the migraine beast a while longer, as the allergy beast will often wake the migraine monster from it's slumber, but here's to hoping it'll stay in hiding! Fingers Crossed

Congratulations on the streak, and we will join you in hoping that it lasts a while longer, and the allergies don't siderail it.
Good Luck

Finally broke the streak..... Head Banging Thumbs Down
7 weeks headache free ended thursday with one of my rarer aura heralded migraines. Full out head banging screaming migraine with nausea and the works, with the warning of the aura - I get this prismatic pulsating aura in my vision in about 1 in 20 migraines that gives me about 20 minutes warning to get the meds on board before I get to the screaming pain and puking stage.

99% of the time I go from fine to screaming pain and puking in about 5 minutes.... Embarrassed Occasionally I get "sneak attack" migraines where I can feel it creeping up on me an I can do something about it before it gets bad and head it off before it gets to the screaming pain/puking point, but that also doesn't happen that often.

Ick.... hopefully this doesn't mean that the monster is out of the box on a regular basis....I had another one today of the regular sort.

Are you feeling any better today?

I had another migraine the day before yesterday, but am managing. Hopefully that'll be the last for a bit! Here's to starting on a new record....
