I've been on Diamox now for about 3 weeks. Although it is too early to see it's full potential, I do think it is working.

Since starting it, I have only needed something stronger than Zanaflex once, which was yesterday. But, I have not even needed as much Zanaflex lately either!!!!

The only side effects I have right now are very similar to the ones I experienced when I started Topamax. Soda tastes odd and my hands and feet tingle with pins and needles. Other than that, I'm all good!!!

We have had quite a few rainy days here, which normally I would end up with a TTH or even worse, a full blown Migraine. So far, yesterday was the worst I've had in a while and even that was only about a 3/4!

I hope this little streak continues as the weather gets nicer! I would love to feel like I could be active again this summer!!

Is Diamox supposed to be helpful for weather triggered migraines? I have a big problem with those. Is it something you are taking as a preventive medication?

Hey Peggyann!

Yes, Diamox is used as a preventive and does seem to help those with weather triggered Migraines, such as myself. I thought to ask my doctor about it because one of our other hosts, Laura, has had some really great success with it.

When I brought it up to my doctor she said if it works for me, it would be a really good fit, since I do trigger easy off of weather conditions.

It's worth asking your doctor about! Smiler

Eileen,
Its good to know about Diamox if the Topamax doesn't work out for me. Its something I could ask my doctor about. I'm so glad you are having some success with it!!

Ooohhh Eileen,

I'm so excited for you! I was hoping the Diamox would work as well for you as it does for me! Thankfully, that pins and needles side effect did wear off eventually but my legs fall asleep very easily so that's something you may want to keep an eye out for.

Happy Dance with an extra wiggle for you, girl! Thumbs Up
