It's been two weeks since my last migraine! That's the first time since September I've gone that long.

That brave little turtle has been struggling through the tall grass. Go, turtle, go!

Today my period started. Although I've been what I would usually describe as prodromal, so far I've had nothing more than a few stray twinges out of my head. So something is really working, I think. Yay, Turtle!

Nutcracker, that's wonderful!!! Refresh my memory re your regimen or whatever you attribute this improvement to? And I hope you make it through today without that turtle being yanked back to the start. He's making such good progress!

In August, while concluding an unsuccessful trial of Neurontin, I had 16 days with migraines in the last 20 days of the month. In early September, my neurologist took me off of the Neurontin and put me on Inderal LA 60 mg. Almost immediate improvement! My migraines went from 18-25 per month to 6-12 per month. Still more than I wanted, but real improvement.

I saw the neurologist again at the end of November. We added magnesium and Vitamin B2, and increased the Inderal slightly to 80 mg. I really doubt I can tolerate more Inderal than that, because it slows my heart rate. Soon, I will increase my morning dose of the imipramine I take for my esophagus, to see if that helps any. I assume the imipramine doesn't do anything for my migraines now, because I took it before the migraines were even diagnosed!

If I continue to have migraines only 2-3 times a month, and continue to stare down major triggers like hormones and thunderstorms, I'm going to write a letter of thanks to my neurologist. She deserves it!
