 Whether related to our Migraines and headaches or another issue, there are times we want copies of our medical records. Many of us have asked staff members in our doctors' offices for copies of our records only to be told that they could not give records to patients, only other doctors. Not true. Doctors are required, by law, to provide us with a copy of our records within 30 days of the request.HIPAA established many things, including our rights to our medical records, how much we can be charged for copes of records, and more.
