Do we want, need, and deserve better Migraine and headache treatments? Absolutely yes!

Think there's nothing you can do? But there is! You can take five minutes to send an email to your Representative in the House of Representatives. It's easy and only takes about five minutes. The Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy site is set up for us to send an email to our Representative, even if we don't remember who he or she is.

PLEASE, go to www.AllianceForHeadacheAdvocacy.org NOW. Click the "What YOU Can Do" link in the left column. You will go to our Alert Center. There is a box with our Featured Alert. Simply click the red "Take Action" button in the Featured Alert box. That will take you to a letter that's ready for you to add what you want to say about this issue, fill in your name and address, and have your email sent directly to your Representative. It is urgent that you do this NOW because the House is setting 2009 funding appropriations in just a few days.

Hello Teri,

I mentioned in the Tea Room, that I sent my letter out last night and it was a GREAT feeling!!

Not too mention it allowed me to forward the Alert on to six additional people, which I did, and they all sent in letters as well.

An awesome feeling!!

I hope everyone starts sending those emails out!

Lori

Hi, Lori!

Thanks so much for participating! Yours plus six more - that's super! It may be a long haul to get NIH funding increased, but we WILL get it done.

Thanks again!

I wrote my representative on Wednesday and this morning, I received an email back from him!

It is so exciting to know that I can make a difference. The AFHA website made it SO EASY to write my representative. My husband also sent him an email and wrote how it is being a husband watching his wife suffer from headaches and migraines.

I also asked my parents to write their rep. that is in another state.

Thanks for making this available and I encourage everyone to do this. It was SO easy.

I sent in my letter last night. I don't come here that often but I did see the plea and sent it to several other people (after checking in here last night). The link made it incredibly easy to send the letter. I just added a paragraph about how Migraines had affected me personally. My older sister added her own personal stuff--she has experience in other head pain problems. We both are now added to this 'list'. Hopefully, we are now ripples in the pond .....((((((...((((.))))..)))))).....

I took action too, & forwarded the request along to all my fellow migraine suffering family members. Really was painless--only took me about 10 minutes total, including a well thought out letter to our state rep.
Awesome to see the potential for awareness & better treatment through our combined efforts!!

Thanks, CB!

After all the years of wanting to see change, I find it so... so... Hmmmm, what's the word? Maybe it's "empowering." I find it so empowering to actually be able to DO something that could help everyone now AND in the future.

Thanks again!

Hey, Teri--Feeling okay for the most part. Having thyroid issues that have them upping the thyroid meds for me for now. I was WAY sluggish and not wanting to exercise and feeling cold even on warm days--so NOT like me. Frowner My Migraines were down, though. I don't know if the 2 were connected? Now, I'm having a few more days of Migraine. I think I'm still trying to get 'that perfect balance' [as if]. Fingers Crossed

My sister has had a similar condition that you've had in the past-- pseudotumor cerebri. She's also had chronic daily headache. She was more than happy to send in the letter. Yes Thanks for letting us know. I hope more folks respond ASAP....
