Migraine sufferers may be able to avoid triggering some of the excruciating attacks by skipping the red wine with dinner and forgoing the chocolate mousse for dessert, but there's little they can do about one of the most common Migraine triggers: the weather. Half of Migraine sufferers were sensitive to weather variables, but most were wrong in their prediction of which climate variable was the culprit, according to findings of a study presented at the 46th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Headache Society (AHS).Read Migraines Often Triggered By Change In the Weather ![]() Teri Robert Lead Expert, MyMigraineConnection terimmc@helpforheadaches.com

My husband has a fancy watch with a barometer, and he's taken to watching the air pressure. I've known for a long time that falling air pressure, usually accompanying a storm front, can be a trigger. But we've discovered that rising air pressure, going from bad weather to pleasant weather, can also be a trigger. So I've gotta keep watch for changes both ways: good to bad, or bad to good.
Once the weather goes bad and stays bad, my head will level out, but will crank up when the weather starts to improve. Gretchen |

Same here, gretchen. It's usually worse when the pressure drops than when it rises. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what's going on right now, as it keeps going wonky around here in NC... This is the 2nd day of a migraine? or maybe the first? Not sure what broke... definitely not in SM though...
<sigh> The fun of north carolina in the summertime. subconsciously starting to sing "under pressure" |

I can always tell when the weather is changing by how I feel, I just can never tell which way the barometer is going.
It really doesn't matter to mean, feeling poopy is feeling poopy! |

I hear ya, ladies! Weather is a pretty strong trigger for me. My preventives do a pretty good job, even with changing weather, but let me encounter a second trigger at those times, and look out!

OMG!! That's me!! I hate it. My doctor says that when we figure out good preventive medicines for me they can help with these migraines too. Has that happened to anyone?
