For many of us, changes in the weather are a horrid Migraine trigger. Some doctors prescribe medications we can take in hopes of preventing Migraines when we know a weather change is coming. Even for those who don't take medications, it's helpful to know that a potential trigger is coming so we can be more prepared. The trick is knowing that weather change is on the way.

On the Weather Channel web site, a new tool is available that can help track what may be coming -- their Aches & Pains Forecast...

I find it pretty accurate, yes. I find the thing they have on there about pressure to be what I look at the most.

Weather is a big trigger for me, but I can sometimes control it a bit when I don't come in contact with any of my other lovely triggers to make it stackable. (eg. stay clear of pork, wine, and certain fumes)

I think this is my favorite spot on the weather channel site. It's the aches and pains 101 under healthy living. It explains a bit about humidity, wind, pressure and what disorders/diseases/ailments the weather effects when these weather patterns are taking place. And Yes! Migraine is listed!

Today it says my area is a "5" which I have been feeling it a bit today - I keep feeling that familiar pull in my eye - but I'm trying not to let the beast get the best of me! I don't want to have to reset that ticker darn it! It's been a great run! So far, so good!

The rest of my week is '2's and '3's - but Monday is set at an '8' right now....I hope that changes!!! Razzer

I just used that site for the first time- was wondering what was going on with my head since there was nothing that I could see weather wise going on outside (other than it being so warm!) But, aha! Our aches and pain forecast had gone off from being none earlier in the week to being a 4 today.

Eeek, if I'm that sensitive, that's not good. I can only imagine what it's going to be when that number gets above a 6.

Anyhow, it's diamox time. Perhaps I can stave off another beast from biting me.

It orig. said today was supposed to be a "3" for my area....but then I woke up to fog and grossness - and of course that feeling of my head caving in.

I popped a Frova to abort what could be an inpending migraine - got to work to check the forecast - yep today is a "7"!!!!

That explains it!!!!!

At least I got that sucker under control before it became a big 'ol M for me!

I guess we're both running on frova- power today then.

Had I looked at the forecast earlier, perhaps the diamox might have saved me.

Alas, the beast is in the process of being slain, and the throb that was starting has been stopping slowly.

The index number here yesterday was 6. I didn't sleep well last night. Sleep was really disrupted. I think that, on top of the rain than moved in was too much. I woke up with a Migraine this morning. Took two doses of Axert to kick the stupid thing. Oh, well! I had one month, two weeks, and two days on my ticker. Can't complain.

You're welcome, Abi! I'd been there, but not often. Then I found that I could keep track of weather with that site on my Blackberry when traveling. Made me explore the site a bit more.

Sorry you had to endure another migraine attack, Teri. And especially that it was so hard to abort. I'm fortunate, my Axert almost never fails. Being on this forum has really made me count my blessings about so many migraine-related things.

As the icky weather continues, we will each look to our heads!
