A couple doctors mention that on my MRI, my ventricals are wider than average & my parietal lobes (white matter) are thinner than average, although one doctor did mention that those issues aren't significant. There was no mention about my cortex. I also have sensory processing issues & AD/HD & hormonal stuff as well as migraines (sensory triggers are the worst), so it would make some sense that my cortex may be larger. However, if one doctor said my MRI was "unremarkable"- does that mean my cortex isn't bigger (and my parietal lobes are normal)? Also, my EEGs are abnormal, but so far, no seizures were caught recently.

Alexandra,
If you haven't read the article, you might want to. It's not talking about the somatosensory cortex being "larger," but about clusters of spots where it's thicker. The brain can be a strange thing.
