There have been a plethera of questions lately about whether Midrin is still available. Pharmacies all over the country have been telling patients that neither Midrin nor any of the generics are being manufactured...

This may be good news and bad news, for our house.

It's great we can still get it.

but if the insurance requires a brand name co-pay, it'll cost me 3 times as much per bottle!

I guess we'll have to wait and see what comes.

This thread is very interesting to me because of a conversation I had with my Dr's nurse the other day. I called the Dr's office to see about getting my Midrin refilled. The nurse they connected me with said she would have to call in a prescription for Epidrin because of the difficulty obtaining Midrin. According to her, the 2 drugs are very similar but not identical. After reading the above posts and trying to do some research on my own . . . I'm confused. Is Epidrin a generic of Midrin? or is it a name brand? Anyone know? I'm kind of curious now . . .

I got Epidrin the last time I refilled my prescription, after having Duradrin and Amidrin for several years. I looked it up online, and it said that it was a generic form of Midrin.
