Someone once asked my about the impact of Migraine disease on my life -- what was the worst thing about it? An interesting question, an insightful question.

Before I share my answer with you, I'm curious to see how you'd answer the question. So, I've put together a poll so we can collect answers and see how other people answer the question.

For some people, the physical symptoms -- the pounding headache, nausea, etc., are the worst aspect of Migraine attacks. Other people will say that they wouldn't mind the pain as much if Migraine didn't impact their lives so strongly in other ways.

Please respond to the poll in this SharePost. You may choose multiple answers if you can't choose one answer that fits best. You may also select "Other" and tell us what impacts you most significantly by clicking on the "Add Comment" link at the bottom of this SharePost.

Thanks!

Go to the poll!

Thanks for the poll. I just wanted to share that the impact that migraine has on my life can change. Some days, it's the pain, other times, it's the fear of getting the next migraine, and still other times, I feel like I am missing out on life because I hurt, so I have to go home to my dark, quiet bed and try to sleep through it.

When I can't go to my son's baseball game because it's too hot and might make my migraine worse, I am sad. When the pain is at it's worst, I get depressed and think that living is just not worth the fight anymore. When I wake up free of pain and realize I am lucky to be alive, living in a society that is working hard to research all sorts of medical problems, I am thankful, I don't have something worse.

As I watch the sunset and realize that another day has gone by, I wonder how many other people truly value the time they were given that day. It is so easy to become isolated and miserable. I hope in 2008, I will not allow the disease control me so much. I hope to be more in control of my own attitudes.

You're very welcome. These polls serve multiple purposes -- one of them is to get us thinking. It obviously works. Wink

I know exactly what you mean. Sadness and guilt are part of too many lives because of these darned Migraines.
