Okay, so sometimes my aura looks like snow or static. Sometimes it is lines, sometimes the lines make shapes like triangles.
But today's is even better. Today's visual disturbance is three long lines running parallel and if I have my eyes open I see them as red, white, blue - a patriotic ribbon if you will. Has anyone else seen color? This is a new one for me, it's usually just white. Anyone else like to share a weird aura experience? Laurelin |

I've only ever had one aura, so I certainly don't qualify as an expert. But mine was green and yellow flashing lights in a "descending herringbone" pattern. I usually describe it as like a "green and yellow waterfall." I think colors are fairly common in auras.
In any event, I'm glad to hear of your patriotism! |

Auras...wow...
I've heard utterly beautiful music chords, seen flashes of light, wiggly lines, glowing dots that lasted for hours, smelled all sorts of smells. If a person considers things like weird skin sensations as aura symptoms, I've felt THE STRANGEST things on my skin almost exclusively on the right side of my body. My right side is where I get most of my pain, my cluster headaches, and the ear that has Meniere's. The neon visual aura I've had have been every color of the rainbow. I've had kaleidescope syndrome where everything looked like I was seeing it through a slowing turning kaleidescope--that was truly weird. I've seen all sorts of clear visual distortions. Some were in just one portion of my field of vision and some covered my entire sight. I even lost all my sight in both eyes for about 10 minutes once. That was scary. 8'] http://stormlaughter.blogspot.com/ http://stormlaughter.deviantart.com/ basilar-artery migraine, MAV, BPPV, migraine with and without aura, cluster headaches, but no tension headaches! Normally I don't have any aura, just the pain. I did have a dark spot on one eye that moved down one time. That was scary.
I also smell stuff burning with daytime migraines or I hear music, it sounds like a t.v. is on or people are talking at night. I keep forgetting to look into a white noise machine.... My visual aura is always boring black and white and greyscale. I'm always a bit jealous of those of you that get color. But now I feel a little bit better. If you suddenly got color, maybe I will someday!

Yesterday I had rainbow spirals, that was fun.
I've seen just about every other type it seems too...colors, black & white, and other effects, like kaleidescope, smoke, etc. Can really make you feel like you're losing your mind! |

When I was a kid I would see green red and blue dots in fireworks all over my field of vision. I loved them and would close my eyes so I could see them better against a dark field. I don't particularly remember any head pain following after the fireworks. Though I did have headaches as a child, I didn't have throbbing nauseous ones until my teens and at that point I had no aura. Now I once in awhile see fast shifting gray patterns but nothing pretty and not necessarily with head pain. So I've never known if I have aura or just occasional hallucination (joking!).
