Hello and I am new, am tying to get more information about basilar migranes, last year I could not find much information, but this year there seem to alot more information.

I have basilar migranes which are rare and they start at the stem of base of neck and travel to the top of my head and to the sides. At first I see blue lights/yellow lights (auro). When it is cold I have vertigo really bad and when it is windy a cervical collar is alot of relief but who want to walk around with a cervical collar all the time. I was put on pamelor at first and then topomax. I had alot of side effects with topomax and had to get off so my doctor started lyrica which causes alot of swelling and I was not on it long.

I am scheduled to go back to the neurologist and my PCP put me on Midran (generic) instead of the floricet which stop the headaches after they started. I was told I needed to be on a preventative so they put me pack on the pamelor. When it get cold out side my face and head get so tight I can't go outside. When it is humid I have the same problem so I have spent too much time inside.

Any information about basilar and treatment medications will be appreciated.

Hi Zera!

Welcome to the forum!

I put your other post in with this one, so we don't have two topics of the same and the conversation can all go in one thread.

Hope you don't mind!

Looks like MJ already gave you great links to start you out!

If you need any other information, please feel free to ask! We look forward to getting to know you. Big Grin
