Not really sure if I'm posting this in the right place...
I'm in search for a new GP... for 2 reasons A. I've just moved house and B. the GP I've been seeing is a bit magoo and doesn't seem to know what he's doing... What sort of questions should I be asking when looking for a GP who knows their stuff when it comes to migraines and neurological problems? Aroha Nui (much love) Smile... it makes people wonder what you're thinking about |

Forgive me for repeating this article to you, I gave it to you in the intro folder, I think...and it's a great article to read to prepare for your doctor's appointment:
• Migraineur's Guide To a Successful Doctor's Appointment Also here's another one you can read: • Coping With Busy Doctors Some of the things I like to know about my doctor is if they attend conferences about Migraines, are they up to date on the latest medications being used for Migraine prevention as well as Migraine treatment. I find that there are many more doctors now then there were just a few years ago, who take Migraines seriously. Again, good luck! Laura Forum Moderator |

You might also ask how many patients they treat for migraine. Another idea is to ask about basic issues that tend to crop up, like status migrainous, Medication Overuse Headache (MOH), and that kind of thing. A doctor worth their salt will have heard of these things, and have an idea of what to do about them. Someone who says they've never heard of them is waving a red flag.
