So two days later I am questioning myself, would like to know what you guys think.

I have persistent migraine aura. Sometimes it gets wildly active before I go into the pain phase, or I have different visual symptoms piled on top of the usual.

A few nights ago my DH and I were doing some massive cleaning. I began to feel the beginnings of a migraine coming on, and the aura was typical of the PMA but very strong. I could see the whirling shadows over everything (generally those and the sparkles are visible over neutral colors as opposed to EVERYTHING). This aura extended way into the pain phase, and I took my triptan ASAP, which definitely helped. The pain did not go away completely, but from the time the aura really ramped up until the pill started working about an hour and a half later I had the extreme visual problems.

I didn't think to call the doctor, but told my husband if I started to slur my speech that we should go to the ER right away. Since I always see sparkles in my vision I didn't get particularly worried at the symptoms at the time.

I'm thinking I need to let my specialists know what was going on? I don't know, was I wrong to not call the Doc or go to the ER?

I did the same thing the night after too, but I knocked everything out pretty quickly and have had no problems since.

What do you guys think? Am I taking too many chances?

You probably should have called or gone to the ER, but I can totally relate to the feeling of being tired of constantly calling someone.

Promise me if this happens again you'll call?

I would have to agree with Deb that if it happens again before your next appointment to call. I also don't think it's a bad idea to call in and see if you can chat with the PA or NP if the office has one to see if the doctor want to see you due to the change in symptoms.

Take care,
Cindy

I agree with Cindy and Deb. You might consider calling your doctor's office now just to give them an update. They can also let you know what you should do in case it happens again.

Please keep us posted, k Group Hug

I would still call the dr and just let them know that you've had new symptoms.

This way they have it on record, in case you forget to mention it at your next visit.

Do you keep a list of things you want to talk to your doc? You might put this on it to remind you. I always take a written list of questions and talking points to my appointments. Otherwise, I'll forget something.

Gretchen has a great point about writing these information down for your next visit to make sure you don't forget to mention it.

Please contact your doctor if you are not feeling better.
