i think we have finally gotten my migraines under control with Keppra and Pamelor. but no sir re! now i only get migraines when i get woken up at night. my son is 2 1/2 and still wakes up 5 out of 7 nights a week. i think he has nightmare but thankfully he goes right back to sleep after i go in there and lay him back down. within an hour of this happening i wake up with a migraine. and a real doozie! i mean nothing will touch these suckers. not even imitrex injections.
i made an appointment with the neuro. but what the heck is going on in my brain that doesn't like me getting up at night? sometimes my husband will go lay my son back down but he works till 4am two nights a week. i do a lot of praying those two nights a week! i can't take this any more, it's driving me crazy! |

If I was in your place, I'd be asking the neuro doc about the possibility that the disruption of your sleep pattern from getting up to tend to your son might be triggering you. It's certainly a possibility.

Jennifer,
I have sleep issues and they play a huge factor with my Migraine pattern. It's one of my worst triggers. I wake up several times a night and if I don't fall right back to sleep, I'm pretty much guaranteed a Migraine the next day. My specialist recommended sleeping with my head slightly elevated and that does help a bit. He's also prescribed Zanaflex to take during the day and at night. I know right now you probably won't have that option but hopefully, your son will start sleeping better soon. I remember those days very well, my heart goes out to you! Take care, Laura Forum Moderator |

My oldest son had a very hard time learning to sleep through the night also. I am sure you have but have you read up on ways to help him sleep better?, and therefore helping your poor mommy head! Check with your pediatrician too.
I still have the migraine trigger of interuppted sleep. My youngest son had "early morning band" this past year and I had to get up an hour earlier than normal, and this was a trigger for me. Good luck lisa |
