For years, I have not eaten soy sauce, because I thought it was a trigger for me. I don't really remember it actually triggering me, but it has been a long time. I think I just read it somewhere? But I read today that the main reason it is a trigger is that it usually has msg in it, and if it is naturally brewed, it does not. So, I am thinking of trying it again. Kikoman's says it is naturally brewed and does not have msg in it. So, I am just wondering if it is a trigger for anyone else?

I don't have any issues with it, myself. Kikkoman's is my favorite of the soy sauces I've tried, and it's the brand I always use in my stir fry.

Thanks! Does MSG trigger you? I think I am just going to buys some and try it. I won't know until I do, right?

Nope. I don't seem to trigger from MSG. The only food trigger I've ever found is aspartame, and that's kind of hit and miss.

Hi there,
A bit late to the topic here, but MSG is a pretty big trigger for big and soy sauce, which I love too, is a no no. No MSG and I am good to go. Do let me know how you make out with that new soy sauce, please? |

MSG is a huge trigger for me!! And it's in so much!! And they are now allowed to say "natural flavors" instead of MSG now. Not fair. Cause it's really not natural. But I have been researching, and if you read labels, you can find things that don't have it in it.
Dragondrool, you are so lucky that you are not triggered by it or not too much of anything!!! I had no food problems before the migraines. Now I have most of all the regular triggers for migraines. And it is so hard to quit eating those things at my age!!! I have had to try and learn a whole new way of eating and cooking. And for someone who used to eat most everything out of a box or from a resturant, that has been a real challenge. parisbabe |

I know I'm lucky, and I always keep that in mind, and don't take it for granted. Another lucky bit is that I almost never get nausea with migraine, which helps keep me high-functioning during them. I know these things are very fortunate indeed. Now, if I could just find a way to share that around, we'd really be in business.
