I went to church today. I was carefully looking around for triggers because church has been my main migraine battleground for the last six monthes. I no longer go in the meeting hall, too many fainting spells. I listen from the foyer. So I noticed that the microphone at one point had major feedback. It felt like something was drilling into my left temple. The effect on my body was immediate, the numbness started on my left side by my temple and down to my hand in 10 seconds. I couldn't believe how quickly the migraine symptoms were there. But for the first time ever I knew what was happening to me, I didn't go into a panic attack. I knew that this was just a migrane attack and would follow a predictable course. I was wondering if feedback from microphones is a trigger for anyone else? Mary in NM |

Yes. IT doesn't bring on an attack as serious as yours, but it triggers me. And I seem to be the only one that can hear it!
About a year ago it was really bad, for weeks on end. It's finally better, but every now and then it's set too high and it feedsback. Who would think church would be so full of triggers?

Pretty much any loud or unpleasant noise makes this ongoing migraine I've had since November worse, so yes, I suppose I could add microphone feedback to that list. It usually feels like someone has taken a drill to my eye.
Sorry to hear it triggered such an immediate attack for you. -MJ my blog: http://rhymeswithmigraine.blogspot.com/ “HOPE CAN GROW FROM THE SOIL OF ILLNESS!” This is the theme of 2008’s National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week in September. Mary - yep, any sudden, loud noise can do it for me, especially a grating one like that. So sorry you had such a big reaction - but your not panicking is a great step!

Definitely loud noise like that can be a trigger for me-especially at a certain pitch. It can bring a migraine on really fast, more than any other trigger.
