I think I've found a new trigger. This is the 2nd time this has happened. One of my neighbors has a "magnificent"new weed whacker, which they like to use prior to 9 in the morning. Okay, yes that's incredibly annoying but..... this is the 2nd time I have gotten a -rip your stomach out thru the back of your skull and can't see out of one eye- migraine within minutes of them starting.

I have known for many years that the ultrasonic theft detterent system used by a few big department stores cuases a near instant migraine, but this particular sound is a new one. I suppose it might be helpful to know which brand of weed whacker they bought.

Amy-
I totally can empathize with you. Our apartment complex got a new weed whacker- and they like to start doing maintenance work at 7:30 am. Insta-Migraine for Jamie.

I'm not usually triggered by sound, or lawnmowers- just that weed whacker. In your case, you can probably talk to the neighbors about perhaps having them start later in the day-- perhaps the interruption to your sleep is doing something icky? or even setting a time where you'd be out of the house area completely? Maybe if they understood that it's a trigger for you, they'd be compassionate?

Here's a link to the letter for "those who don't get it"- in case you need to share it with the neighbors so they take you completely seriously- that you have a disease that they're affecting negatively, and that if they just changed when they used the device, it would save you loads of pain!

I hope they're compassionate and that you can eliminate this trigger!!
