The remnants of Hurricane Fay are coming through here tomorrow. 100% chance of rain tomorrow!

Weather changes are a trigger for me. I'm going to be very careful not to add any stackable triggers. I've got my Imitrex Rx filled, so I'll have my abortive ready.

Gretchen,

Good luck, take super good care of yourself. Remember, the faster you take the Imitrex the better it works!

Weather is my third biggest trigger, after hormones and lights, so I can really relate. We had a bunch of thunderstorms recently and they really gave me some doozies of beasties.

So, good plan to avoid other triggers getting stacked up too high. Lighten the load, so to speak!

Keep us posted.

(I'm 55, have had severe migraines for over 4 years due to menopause, plus I have fibromyalgia. I take Imitrex plus Anaprox as an abortive and am working with my migraine specialist to find a preventive. I keep a detailed migraine diary and have made significant lifestyle changes to reduce my risk of migraines.)

Good luck to you, and to everyone in the path of Fay. I've been keeping you all in my thoughts these last few days.

Ooo Fay came through here a while ago, the main energy portion of the storm anyway.

We're supposed to get between 3" and 10" of rain by tomorrow.

My ears felt like they were going to EXPLODE and my head pounded. Once the wind eased up, though, the worst of the Migraine left too.

Hang in there, Gretchen.

Weather is my big trigger, so I know what you all mean! Good luck, and I hope it's not a bad one for us all!

What I don't understand is that I was always told by my docs that weather could not possibly be a trigger-- it had to be my hormones or something I was eating (I've done several "migraine diets" w/ no success). I seriously wondered if it literally was "in my head". -- at least until I came here and found that I wasn't crazy, and wasn't alone, and that weather really is a major trigger for many people!

Hope you feel better soon!

Weather is a big trigger for me too (my largest in fact, with stress being second). I think that the myth that weather cannot trigger is one of the reasons that so many "sinus" headache sufferers think their pain cannot possibly be migraines (this was certainly the case for my mom, until my "sinus" headaches were diagnosed as migraines).
