Previous to the start of my headache/migraine problem, I was really, really active. As time went on, I've had to remove all of the activities that I used to enjoy--mostly because they made my head hurt even worse, or triggered a horrible migraine. I've been pining after a workout really badly for the last few months, and feeling really disappointed by not having an outlet.

I decided to try out water aerobics, figuring that at the very least I could get a little toning in... the inactivity is affecting me in more ways than one! I was pleasantly surprised to find it a great *aerobic* workout! (shoulda guessed... water AEROBICS!) I haven't had any negative after effects, head or joint wise.

Chlorine doesn't seem to be a factor for me, although the day that I did laps after class seemed to cause a little bit of an intensity bump, but not severe. The class is held after work, and I've worn my sun glasses but the sun doesn't seem to be very intense. The water is just cold enough, but not enough to shock my system. I'm looking forward to enjoying it a lot more this summer!

Glad you're able to use water aerobics for a good workout! I recently tried this- unsuccessfully, I might add... But, I'm really happy to hear that someone else is able to benefit from this- and enjoy it!

Sounds like fun!

I need to find a way to start moving my butt. I've been very bad and don't feel like doing any type of anything that is considered exercise.

I'm glad to hear you like it!

I've definitely developed a bit of an addiction to working out in the last few years... I think it takes a while for that to happen. Smiler

You could definitely modify it to suit... I found out about it from my Mom, who wears a neck brace almost 24/7 and uses a cane, I figured if she could do it, almost anyone could!

This post is a little late, but my mom has been doing water aerobics for at least 15 years. She's 77 and goes 3 times a week. It's an inside pool, so she does it year-round. She's in great shape.

There's a group of 11 or 12 of them that have become very close friends. If you're absent for 2 classes in a row and haven't told the group why, you get a phone call checking up on you. They go out to lunch once a month to celebrate birthdays. They call themselves the "Aqua Bubbles." They have a great time.

My sister likes water aerobics, too. She takes classes at her city pool. It's an outside pool, so she only does it in the summer.
