This is godt question.

Vgggie wise the darker the color the betters for you so many nutritonist says.

I likes brocolli, spinach, dark green lettece, red bell peppper( jack FULL of Vit. C even MORE then in an orange), zuicinni, carrots, egg plant, and potatoes (the skin is rich in potassiums).

Wit veggies I usual eats as meal (like big salad) or wit a meal as side dish. Tho I does enjoy snackin on carrotts.

Fruit wise, berries is full of anoxidents esp. blueberries, but other berries too. Banannas is godt for potassium. Oranges and citrus fruits godt sources of vit c.

But i enoys many fruits...peaches in the summer YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY, grapes, watermelon (It is refreshin, has lotsa water in it and great source of potassium)...

When I no getting enuf fruits I make a smoothie.

Little bit of OJ, 1 large bananna, handful frozen strawberries, some frozen blueberries, 1/2 cup of plain or vanilla yogurts. Blend. If you wish it to be more thicks then adds more frozen fruits.

At the store you can buy bags of frozen mix fruit. OR...can buy fresh fruit and freezes it.

What fruits are out this time of year for the summer, and which Fruits do you like to get the most?

For me right now we are growing strawberries and last night I picked about 15 of them. OH they were so delicious! I hope there are more this week. But I'm not sure how long the strawberry season is good for.

CoolBefore we know it the rain will be gone for the summer. We have lived here in Oregon for 9 years now and usually most of June, July, and August is for the most part rain free. Although this June has been cool and wet I hear we are in for a hot summer begning in mid July.

Hopefully not TOO hot as heat triggers lupus flares in my wife. Frowner

Peace,

Dave

I agree Berries are so delicious here in Oregon. I just wish that they would come out more often! Not just a couple month's in a year if that. I can't wait until blueberry season. That is my ultimate favorite fruit!

I make a smoothie very similar to Sol's, except I leave out the juice and add a little vanilla extract and a teaspoon of honey. Raw honey is rich in healthy enzymes and bacteria. And it's really yummy.

Robin,
Oh how I wish that I can have Banana's. So far I found out that Banana's and Strawberries trigger a migraine for me. I hope that none of my other favorite fruits will give me trigger's for migraines.

I love apples! I'm an apple connoisseur. I like Pink Ladies, Granny Smiths, & Fujis best. They're high fiber, low calorie, sweet, and low on the glycemic index. I have seen apples on some lists of migraine trigger foods, though. They're not a problem for me, but obviously we're all different.

I love broccoli, zuccini, and yellow squash, although there aren't too many veggies I won't eat. I usually eat veggies raw with hummus or grilled with fish. I also drink V8 in the morning....high in sodium, tho, so not good if you are watching sodium or already eat a lot of salt. They have lo-sodium V8 but it's pretty bland.

I'm partial to Fuji and cameo apples. I'm not really a huge fan of galas or golden delicious, but the only one I'd probably never have again is honeycrisp. Those I didn't like at all.

And, tonight, I am baking eggplants fresh from my sister's garden! I'm going to slice them, de-seed them (for Matt's diverticulosis), & coat them in "Gourmet Fish Fry" by the Stansel Rice Co. I'll add some sliced Vidalia onion, parmesean cheese & home-made spaghetti sauce, & we'll have "Eggplant Parmesean" & a salad for supper tonight. I'll be serving around 7 pm EDT. Y'all come on over!
