As of yesterday, I've lost 30 pounds since the first of the year. I've gone from size 20 to size 18. My 20s are in a pile for the Salvation Army. They love plus-size clothes.

Bought a couple of pairs of size 18 black pants in September. They're too big! I bought a pair of 16W black pants yesterday, and they fit! I've bought several 1X tops -- the 2Xs are baggy. The rest of my size 18s fit well. Amazing how different designers size their clothes.

I've been doing Diet Center -- recommended by my internist (PCP). It's expensive, but the individual support is great. It took forever to break through 200, but after that, my body has decided that it's OK to lose weight, and I've been losing a couple of pounds a week. At my weigh-in yesterday, I weighed 177 3/4.

The next challenge is Christmas Eve at my mom's. Lots of food, most of it very fattening. I'll bring a couple of diet-friendly vegetables.

I started Lyrica a couple of weeks ago. It lists weight gain as a common side effect, so I'm being extra careful.

We've finally had some rain, and it's cooled off. Hat, scarf and gloves for my walk this morning.

Great milestone, Gretchen!

I know how hard it is to take the weight off- especially drug-related weight. (Uggh!) and I'm pleased as punch to hear how successful you've been!

Very good work. Congratulations! Keep it up!

As you take the weight off, could you ship it over to me?

No, actually, I don't have to stop losing right away, but it will come to that eventually.
