But mine have gotten just plain too big. After weigh-in this morning, I went to one of the department stores that just happened to be having a lingerie sale. I know I tried on 14 or 15 bras of various shapes and sizes. I came away with ONE bra. It fit well and was comfortable. The one I tried on was black. When I asked the lady to point me to the other colors, she said that it only comes in black.

So I now have one bra that fits. But it's black, which I can't wear under most of my clothes. So it's back to the beginning. Yuck.

The good news is that I felt good enough to go shopping for bras!

Gotta go get the dog to walk me. Then I get to walk by myself. Had to wait on the guy to come and do the annual checkup on the furnace. It's fine. It's only two years old, so it had better be! It's warmer today, about 60. Two days ago, the high was 38. Sunday, it's supposed to be 72.

Bra shopping is one of the worst things EVER! I think it's that and bathing suits!!! LOL

I hate them both!

speaking of which - I need new bra's .....it's semi annual sale at VS! It stinks because I like their bras - I like the angel all one piece deals - but they stink as far as wear and tear - so I only buy them when they are on sale because they are super $$$$$$$$

A friend of mine is - we will say blessed - in that department - and she went to a bra store and had bras made for her - and they weren't any more exspensive then what I'd spend full price at VS (like $65) and she says they are the best bras ever.

Okay, I have a question... why are these things so bloody expensive?

It's bad enough having to go shopping for bras, but if you find something you like, then you go through the checkout line and see how much you're spending. It's even worse if you've recently put on or taken off weight- 'cause you have to start from scratch all over again. Talk about expensive.

Thanks for reminding me about the semi-annual sale, Eileen!

I know! The pricing is insane for Upper Underoos! The pricing is also getting out of hand for boxes of certain time of the month supplies, too. There must be a conspiracy afoot that targets the female of the species!

My bras are all black, and I've actually decided that I rather like it that way. I prefer it over white by far. I don't have any trouble with it showing through any of my shirts, including white t-shirts. Then again, I only ever wear cotton clothing, so I don't have anything more sheer to worry about it showing through.

I hate bra shopping! It is the worst. I fired VS a few years ago when they redid their sizing and temporarily got rid of my size of panties. Then they discontinued the panties I wore. So now I theoretically shop at Macy's, except I haven't bought a new bra in probably 18 months. They're a little pathetic, to say the least.

And, of course, I can't motivate myself to replace them because that would require shopping. I know Macy's and some of the other large department stores have "bra fitting specialists" that will help you find your size for free. One of these days...

I'm a consistent enough size that I buy online through One Hanes Place. They have good prices on Playtex bras. I need something fairly high quality. I hate just about all shopping, but when it's necessary, that's what I do.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates buying Over the Shoulder Boulder Holders. When I gained all this weight [Thank you, Depakote, Nardil, and Zyprexa], I lost my 34B's, and I miss them terribly.

I love the idea of custom bras. But I hate getting measured and fussed with at the bras-only store, and I'm sure that getting custom bras fitted would be traumatic.

What is VS?

I'm going to hit Kohl's. That's where I found my last bra style. I usually wear beige bras with light tops.

Speaking of which, what is it with the white bras showing through thin white tops. Back when we went to the Youth Mass, if the girls wore something substantial enough to wear a bra with -- many of them wore almost-nekkid tops -- you could see the bra through the top. Or the top was so tight that you could read the label on the bra.

Gretchen,
I understand completely about the medication weight thing... I also miss being a lot-um- lighter up there. As I keep swearing I'm gonna get the weight off, I haven't bought anything new... but it would really only be like half a cup size, so a Pain in the rear to find something that fits, and custom bras... well, I lack the money to do "custom" anything. Medical bills et al have drained the wallet.

VS= Victoria's Secret. And the secret is that their garments tend not to hold up well. I've bought 2 sets of silk PJ's from them, and they ripped in the same spot. Bought another set from another catalogue, and they're still in use years later for half the price!

I was "sized" at a VS a few years ago, and they told me I was a 40C. Um, no. Definitely not. I never found a bra that size (even theirs!) that actually fit properly. I'm smaller now than I was, so my bras no longer fit properly. And they're all from VS so they're in very sad shape.

How true!! LOL The secret is - they charge and arm and a leg for poorly made products because they have very famous supermodels they have to pay for! (I can say this, I used to work for the company!) But I have not found another bra like the Angels Embrace - its made out of almost like SCUBA suit material - and it's all one piece - I love them - when they hold up. I've done the ebay thing too - but I think they were fakes - definaly did not hold up the same. That's why I wait for the sale.

I like Calvin Klein too - but the ones I like don't have padding - sometimes a girl wants a little help. Big Grin

OK yall Im gonna take this a bit further and say I just flat hate bras!! Big Grin Let alone shopping for the awful things! Embarrassed Just like shoes, If I aint leavin the house, they aint agoin on! Yes

I seem to have the opposite problem as yall, Especially with prolonged migraines, I have trouble keeping weight up.from time to time I loose weight terribly despite no decline or change in my eating. Of course my dumb keiser docs have NO idea why I would loose 10-15 lbs in a few weeks for no reason Mad I know that doesnt sound like much but when you only weigh 105 on a good day, thats a LOT to loose that fast and takes forever to gain back.

Well, when weight goes down, unfortunatly so does the ehem chest Frowner So if any of yall wanna get rid of some.. I will take it! Big Grin Big Grin

Hey anyone wanna have a bra burning??? Devil Big Grin

I flat-out hate boulder holders, too, and often go without at home, particularly in the evenings.

I am blessed much more than I'd rather be (36D), so I'll gladly share with you. I wouldn't mind one iota iffin I was as flat as a proverbial ironing board, especially in the summer.

As soon as I get home from work and I know I'm not going back out, the work clothes (and bra!) come off and the pjs go on. I am a big fan of pjs! Big Grin

Once I finally found a brand that fit, I stuck with them and I've been happy. Bali bras work for me. I order them through the Hane catalog and try my best not to think about it if I can help it! XD

I think men invented bras because they like to see us in them. Devil
