Migraine

Hi. I'm new to the site. Have had migraines all my life, but now that I'm in my 30s, they get worse and worse each month. Was on a great treatment plan until my health insurance was canceled by my employer, and I found out I couldn't afford the treatment plan anymore.

I admit. I'm here out of desperation. I don't know where else to go for help or advice. I'm happy to find a community like this out there, though! Thank you for existing.

There are some options for medications we can tell you about.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance helps people without insurance get medications they need. Click on the blue link for more information.

National Council on Patient Information and Education has many links that may be helpful.

Walmart, I know, has some medications available for $4. Do any of your medications fall in that plan?

I hope this helps. Not having insurance is very difficult. But not feeling well is worse. Could the doctor you've been seeing give you samples? Just some thoughts.....

Wow! Thank you so much for your ideas! It gives me hope. Having to give the Amerge back to the pharmacist this morning (because of the price) was upsetting, but I think I can find a way around this and find health coverage that will work for me. Thanks to some of the links you gave here and on my other post (in meds section), I think I'm on my way to finding a better healthcare plan that can cover more of my costs -- without costing me so much.

I can sympathize with you. My migraines seemed to have gotten worse since now that I'm in my 30's. I'm sorry you are having problems affording your migraine treatment. I wish your employer and those like them would understand how important our health is.
