Hi everyone,
My name is Raluca and I am originally from Romania. I had migraines as a child in Romania and was never correctly diagnosed. The only solution I knew was to turn off all the lights and go to sleep. My migraines stopped during highschool but came back more forceful once I turned 18. Again, the doctors could not tell me what it is. I self-diagnosed once I moved here and saw a migraine medication ad on TV. The next thing I did was to go online. After google-ing migraines I found a migraine forum. It was great to hear about everyone's experiences - some of the posts I read then are still fresh in my mind. I called my mom in Romania and sent her to the pharmacy - there is less of a need for prescriptions there. She bought and sent me Quarelin - a German drug I haven't been able to find here. She's been sending it to me ever since - 10 years now.
Thank you to all of you for your posts - it is great to hear from other people who have the same problem.
Raluca

Hi again. Megan, Laura and I already found you in the other thread and said hello. But I'll say hi again here. Smiler

Have you ever had a doctor confirm the migraine diagnosis. We shouldn't ever self-diagnose. It's fine to see yourself in what you're reading and seeing and then take it to a doctor and ask, but we really need to get a firm diagnosis so that we can get specific, effective care. Neurological issues can be tricky, and you could be experiencing something else entirely, and then self-treating ineffectively. You really need to see a doctor for confirmation of your suspicions. Only a doctor is qualified to confirm a diagnosis.
