Glad the ER visit went well, FXTX. Here are some forms you can use for trips to the ER, if you and your doctor want to. They can cut down on the info you have to provide when you aren't feeling well, and they also let the ER staff know your own doctor's preferences for your treatment.

Whoooohoooo! Glad to hear the Topamax is doing so well.

Yes, the StatDose kit does need to be replace from time to time. You can ask your doc to write your next prescription so that you get a new one. I don't know yet quite what the delivery system is going to be like, but it wouldn't surprise me to see generic sumatriptan injections before the end of the year. I HATE that stupid injector. It's not the needle that hurts; it's the Imitrex being forced in so quickly. When I used it, I asked my doctor to write the prescription for individual dose vials, the used an insulin syringe to inject it slowly. That also made injections easier. My doctor told me that doing it that way, I could do the fleshy part of my thigh or arm or even my midriff where I inject my diabetes meds sometimes.

Again, I'm so glad you got 17 days Migraine-free, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.

Ms Teri. 6 on hand in case of an attack. I wouldn't dare take 6 in a 24 hour period. I'd have a whole mess of other problems then, plus my butt would really hurt!! Thumbs Down

I usually am better by one injection, if not by two then it's ER time.

Quick question on the Statdose Pen though...has anyone noticed the spring wearing down? I have been using the same kit for about 3 years now and my husband says it gets harder and harder to inject. He has to increase the pressure each time. Sometimes it doesn't take and he has to try several times. I'm usually in too much pain to notice though.

Oh and Ms Teri, with my new dosage of Topamax as of 1 April my migraines went from about 3-4/week to ZERO in 17 days!! I feel so blessed!!

I look forward to speaking with you all!
