New here.....Thought I could use some friends with migraines, seeing as though I am the only one around here that seems to get them so bad :-( I am 33 and have had these suckers since childhood, but they are worsening again the last couple of years. I just started preventatives a couple of months ago and am heading to MNHI again. Also started rebounding again from taking too much fioricet, but completely stopped taking that recently and have cut the milder/medium headaches back some. Migraines have been killer......1 to 2 a week lately. SOMETIMES 3......UGH. I am mom of 2 girls, a teacher (subbing as of now) and I bartend on a boat in the summer. That is about it for my general intro :-) I have started medical massage just for the pure stress of my life right now, doctors keep trying to put me on 10000 pills and I am not into taking them all and I don't feel like eating ANYTHING lately......Its 11...I have eaten nothing...Yesterday I ate 1 bowl of cereal, 1 bowl of soup and a handful of crackers. I guess thats enough, maybe I'll just lose weight. OK, now I am just rambling......LOL Hope to get to know some of you better :-) Thanks for listening!! Big Grin

Welcome to MyMigraineconnection, kduch! We're glad you've found us, and of course, we wish that you didn't have the need to be here... migraines are no fun, that's for sure!

This is a great place to meet some more folks and get more information. I'm glad that you're no longer rebounding! Medication Overuse Headache is just a cruel entity.

Welcome again, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask away!

Welcome to the forum family kduch Flower

I'm so glad you found us although I'm sorry you have the need to be here. You have come to the right place for information and support.

Like you, I saw an increase in my migraines when I hit my mid-30's. I began seeing a migraine specialist who was able to help me reduce the length and severity of my migraines.

Here are a few links to help you begin:

Learning About Migraines-Where to Start

Types of Headaches and Migraines

Migraine Preventative Medications-Too many to give up!

Do you keep a Migraine Diary? It is a valuable tool to help track triggers, any patterns to your migraines and how well your medications are working. I input mine into Excel and print it out for each doctor's visit.

I hope I didn't overwhelm you to many with links Smiler

Again, a warm welcome and I look forward to seeing you around the forum. If you have any questions, please ask away!

Hi kduch - welcome! Sorry things have gotten bad. I also experienced an increase in migraines in my 30's - it was late 30's for me. Please take good care of yourself - I see the hosts have given you some great links to get started. It has been wonderful having some friends with migraines around here, as you said.

Welcome!

Where in Michigan? I have an aunt and uncle in Grand Rapids, and I went to Interlochen to music camp one summer...

My head got out of control in my mid-30s, too. Seems like that's a dangerous time for some reason.

You've found a good place. Looking forward to seeing you around.

I live in Bay City now. Grand Rapids is a nice area. I have been to Interlochen music camp too! Years ago, very nice, well known fine arts camp! Anyhow, Bay City is on Lake Huron, which is on the east side of Michigan north of the thumb. We are on the Saginaw Bay. Anyway, I have had a 5-8 for 4 days now.....BOOHOO. It is on the lower end today and I am working on cleaning the house and just hoping this will settle down and not turn into a major, vomiting, YOU KNOW WHAT.

Welcome to the forum.

I live in one of the suburbs of Detroit but my wife's family is all from the Saginaw area. I've heard good things about MNHI but have never been there. Hopefully they will help you feel better!
