Well, obviously I'm new here. I've been suffering migraines for almost a year, and truly hope someone here can help me out.

Thanks all!

Hello and welcome to our forum family, tc8384! Our goal is to provide everyone with the information and support that we all need to manage our Migraines and/or headaches. To that end, we consider this a “safe harbor,” where nobody tries to sell us anything, and we all use “family-friendly” language so parents are comfortable letting their children read the forum with them.

Please take a few minutes to review our policies and guidelines along with the other information in the START HERE folder. For information about Migraines, a good article to begin with is Learning About Migraines - Where to Start

It's nice to meet you! We'd very much like to be able to help you learn more about this disease and how to manage it. We're all very good about sharing whatever we know or find out. Smiler

One of the best ways to look for things on the site is to use the links in the colored boxes to the left of the posting window. Each one of those general links will take you to all kinds of different info for that category. If you want to dig deeper yet, there's a search tool at the top of the screen above the posting window, too. That will bring up info from not only the forum, but the shareposts and the question and answer features, too. I find it very handy. If all else fails, feel free to ask away, and we'll do our collective best to help you out. Smiler

Thank you very much! I will for sure look around the site. I've been in search of something like this for a very long time.

Hi tc! Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here. You'll find we're a friendly group and we learn a lot from each other and all the articles you can find here. If you have a question about anything, just ask and we'll do our best to help you out, okay?

What type of Migraines do you get? I get the plain ol' boring Migraine Without Aura. I've had them since I was fifteen and once I reached my mid-thirties, things got out of control. I found myself in bed in pain more than at work. Then I found this forum and found out there are Migraine Specialists out there! I was shocked. I did some research on this site and chose one from the list I just gave you and now I travel to Dallas to see him. I also fired my neurologist, who deemed me to difficult to treat and found a better one, close by my house.

Here are some articles you can take a look at to help get you started:

• Types of Migraines and Headaches

• What Can a Migraine Specialist Do for You? - video

• Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special?

Welcome again! Please come back often and let us know how you're doing Smiler

Hello!

Welcome to the 'family'. Big Grin We are a great group here. We all get it because we get it. We have all gone through the same thing you go through, which makes this 'family' unique. We lift each other up when we need it, listen and have many shoulders for crying!

As you look around the site you will see a lot of information and articles. The experts of this site pride themselves on accurate information and helping out other migraineurs. We have a lot more than other sites, we have new articles that go up daily, if not a few times a day. We have new content a couple times a week. We have a Q&A section, a Share post section, and not to mention our wonderful forum!

I see that Droolie and Laura have already given you some of those awesome articles I was talking about. Please let us know if there is anything else we can get for you. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Welcome again! We look forward to getting to know you! Big Grin

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! I have to say, one of the biggest things that annoys me is when someone else tries to belittle a migraine. I'm glad to finally find a group of people who know what a true migraine is. (Though it means you've gone through the pain I have.)
