I'm 53 years old and happily married. Like many couples of our age, our kids have grown up and are more independent, and we are only now rediscovering a sadly neglected sex life. Before August last year, we had not had any sexual activity for a number of years. And even then I was affected by lack of erection. Now the problem seems worse. If anything my penis appears to SHRINK when I am in a sexual situation with my wife! I can make myself cum easily enough on my own, but if she is present I have to work very hard at it. So I suspect that the reasons are largely psychological. I have been to see my doctor, who has prescribed Viagra. The tablets do give a good erection but sadly they seem to reduce sensitivity. Also the erection still tends to die down when faced with the prospect of sex or mutual masturbation. I have had an initial consultation with a Hypnotherapist, but have not yet begun treatment as it's going to be fairly expensive and I need to save up! I'm hoping that he will be able to sort out my obvious, crippling neuroses. Does anyone else out there share my sort of ED? I would be very interested to hear of any similar experiences or problems.
