I have finally learned to control cravings on my diets. Thats why I finally can lose weight and keep it off. If you can't control cravings, you'll never keep the weight off. It's all in our hands.

Can't argue with that. Only those who can discipline themselves consistently will win the battle of the bulge.

Making wise food decisions and a lifestyle change can truly go a long, long way.

Hello to Both of You,

I absolutely agree with you; the secret to success in losing weight is to control cravings. My problem is that I can't seem to control my cravings for cream cheese and crackers. It seems that if I don't get my daily fix, I become panicky, as if something is not right in my world. Also, I love the feeling of comfort I get when eating cream cheese. I like the taste of the cream cheese with the crackers, oh so much! I have an addictive personality, and this is just my "flavor of the month". I have been to therapy numerous times throughout my life, and it seems that I always have at least one addiction going on at a time.

Help! I don't know what to do! It is easy to say that what you need to do is control cravings but, tell me please, how do you do that when there is a food out there that you find overwhelmingly appealing?

ANY thoughts or ideas you might have for me would be very much appreciated. I no longer drink or do drugs, but now I have this major eating problem, and it is going to kill me if I don't stop.

Thank you for any suggestions and/or advice you can give me.

Kay

Hi All,
I’ve been doing some research and came up with this one site where there are debates by experts on various subjects. There is one debate called: “Are Low Carb Diets Healthy?”. I like the idea that these people are experts in their fields, but this one guy says something that gives me pause. “Consumption of whole plant foods is associated with health while consumption of diets high in animal protein and fats are not. In a global sense, the adoption of sustained low carbohydrate diets which come primarily from animal foods create significant challenges for the planet and also other health issues for humans such as antibiotic resistance.” What do you think he means when he says that a diet which comes primarily from animal proteins is bad for the planet? That’s the first time I ever heard that. If you have time, take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks! http://www.opposingviews.com/questions/are-low-carb-diets-healthy

I control my hunger by drinking lots of fluids. I can't do a low carb diet because I would go crazy. I stick to portion size and working out.

Well! Yeah I agree with you too. Dieting needs a lot of self discipline. Eating organic food is also a great way to reduce weight. Vegetables and fruits such as acai berries contain nutrition properties that help you to control weight gain. However make sure you think twice before buying any food supplement such as Monavie because sometimes their promises can be too good to be true.

Overweight is a big problem now days. When somebody is able to reduce their weight, their self confidence improved automatically. I know how much self confidence a person can gain as I have my personal experience. I was also overweight and used to avoid parties and all. Then my friend suggested me to try Mark Patrick's program and really it worked for me in gaining my self confidence. I lost 35lbs in 3 ½ months. Their weight loss programs are designed to help eliminate the behaviors that are making people overweight.

I agree. In order to achieve a permanent and effective weight loss, you need to examine your lifestyle and make appropriate changes. The first step is to talk to your doctor and discuss various dietary and exercise options. Your doctor should be able to provide a wealth of information to help you make the right choices.

I disagree with this idea. If you ignore your cravings then you end up really falling off the diet wagon and going crazy. I find the best way to deal with my cravings is to set up specific cheat days during which I get my cravings out of my system. This also prevents your body from becoming to used to any specific diet profile.

The worst cravings are the ones that you can't even figure out what it is you want lol Thats usually when I go for a cup of coffee seems to help me.
