I'm recently diagnosed - started on Glucophage (metformin) on Tuesday. My blood sugar both yesterday and today fasting was under 300, but after I exercise, it has really jumped up higher. Tuesday after exercising (walking 2 miles - rather slow), it was 364. Yesterday, it was 341. I have read that you're not supposed to exercise with it being so high, and after calling my doctor and speaking with his nurse, neither seem too worried. Do I just keep exercising and hope that the metformin kicks in along with my new diet? This is all really stressful to me - I'm trying to learn all that I can about diet and exercise. Any advice or help is appreciated. Thanks!
