I'm new to this site and I just moved to a new city 9months ago. I have been having a really hard time adjusting to my new job and city. My job is a very lonerish type job and I am very social. I ended up getting extremely depressed and been destroying my relationships with loved ones because of it. I finally snapped out of it 5wks and started getting medical treatment 3 wks ago but still feeling very depressed and was wondering if how long it took start feeling better
It can take up to 4-6 weeks to fully take affect. Also, it is a hit/miss sometimes whether or not your body responds to that med. For example, Prozac stopped working on me so they supplemented with Wellbutrin. I discovered that Wellbutrin did NOTHING for me. So we moved on to the next one. It isn't just that one day you wake up and feel fabulous...and every day after that is better and better. It is more of a gradual thing. You will feel a bit lighter and things don't seem so scary...but it takes time. Be sure to communicate with your dr. so he/she can monitor your progress - just in case the dosage needs to be increased or a different med should be used. Communication with your dr. is essential. Hang in there!
