Does anyone know if there are any laws that protect a bi-polar individual from verbal harrassment? My husband and I have been going through a divorce, and we live in a small community. His attorney constantly says things like, "She must be off her medication" when my husband and I have a dispute. The problem is, this attorney tells EVERYONE in town about my bi-polar condition, and he makes mean, hurtful comments such as, "Bi-polar wierd-o" in reference to me. I have two children living in this community also, and until this attorney became a part of my life, all was smooth and good. (I am a Sunday school teacher, a Cub Scout leader, a 4H leader, room mother...etc.) I am noticing that people are starting to beleive him, and they are turning their backs on me. It hurts so badly. His comments must stop.

This is completely unprofessional and unethical of your husband's attorney. Where did this attorney go to school? He has completely breached confidentiality and I'm confused with how this person has not been reported to the governing body in your State? This is your reputation on the line and your children could also be affected/ hurt by this!
