According to this article, domestic violence is common within military families, especially after a spouse returns home from deployment. The article gives a few ideas and resources where a spouse could get help.
Has anyone else heard of this, or know of more places to find help?

This article was disturbing and really opened my eyes to the reality of domestic abuse. It happens in every type of house hold and it needs to stop. Thanks for the link.
This is an issue that really needs to be dealt with. There are several types of abuse, besides physicial there is also verbal abuse which can really break down a womans self esteem. I worked as a volunteer for an agency that worked with women who were dealing with Domestic Violence. We found that many of the abusers worked in Law Enforcement which was a problem because they covered for each other. This is a horrible crime as the women are scared to talk to anyone and usually blame them selves. The abuser never changes inspite of many promises. Every women should be aware of this horrible crime and know how to protect herself.
Thank you for speaking out about this. I have faced the injustice of reporting domestic violence to the police, only to have them believe the abuser. A large part of my depression lately stemmed from that experience. I wonder if there is anything we can do about it. Seems like there is none, except write a letter to the officer, which in reality, what does that really do in terms of consequences?
