I have an appointment with a neuro-psych tomorrow that I have been waiting for months for and now I'm dreading it. I have had a problem with seizures since I was twenty one and just recently figured out they are non-epileptic. The doctor that I am seeing tomorrow only studies non-epileptic seizures and comes highly recommended. With all of my mood swings and everything I'm just scared of what I will find out now and Klonopin's aren't even helping me out anymore. I hate this feeling and I can't wait until it's over.
Actually, the appointment went pretty good. The doctor really seems to understand seizures. He seems to think that they are brought on by stress and depression. I have both type of seizures, partial and grand mal. He thinks that the partial seizures are panic attacks instead of partial seizures just by the simple fact that after partial seizures you can "bounce back" after a few minutes where when I have them they take every ounce of energy out of me and it takes a few days to "bounce back". So he had raised my dosage of anti depressant meds, and he thinks that I'll probably try something different because I have been on this med for a few years now. I'll also bee seeing a psychologist to help me try to deal with stress and depression. It's going to be a long hard road but hopefully the outcome will be good.
