Depression

Hello, I am new here and after reading all of your posts I felt the need for a post of my own. I don't know where to start. I have been depressed for as long as I can remember. Only last summer was I diagnosed with double depression. Also, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis about two years ago. I was only 24. I have a wonderful boyfriend who loves me and wants to help, but doesn't know how. I am in therapy and on meds (Cymbalta 120mg) which are helping somewhat. I just don't have the drive to take care of myself or my life anymore. I don't know what else to do. I really love my DR. but I'm not getting any better. I could go on and on as most of us could for there is usually more to the story than we can write out. I want help, but don't know what to do. Maybe a group session? It's hard to here from those who have made it through, I feel like maybe they never had it THAT bad. It's not fair, I know. I am sorry if this is disjointed. I'm not going to say that I understand what you all are going through because all of our situations are unique to us. I will say that I understand what it's like to feel sad and hopeless. I know what depression is like. Anyone?......

I'm new too. In fact this is my first posting. I care for you and want your condition to improve. Have faith that new medications are being developed all the time. Don't give up. Keep posting. We are counting on you to get through this.

Hi - this is my first time on this website, and I was surprised to see someone with the same name so quickly considering how rare it is to even meet anyone at all with the name of Liesel (regardless of spelling).
The first question to come to my mind is if you are in counseling - I believe quite firmly that talking about things can be much more effective than drugs - but a combination of the two is the most helpful. If you ever want to chat send me an e-mail.
