Hello,

My name is Todd and I live in the DC suburbs. I was born with a spinal condition that caused excessive stress on my L4-L5-S1 discs. At the age of 36 both discs had become completely useless. I had Spinal Fusion in my problem area, and it stablized this problem area. Sadly the nerves were permanently damaged, either by wear and tear or excessive scar tissue.

Because it was a pain management issue my work disablity policy would not cover me. Fortunatley Social Security provided 100% coverage. All my attempts at returning to work, have failed due to my pain issues.

Right now I take Kadian and percoset and have Spinal injections every 1-3 months. Sadly I have not been able to return to semblence of a normal life. My day is usually spent in bed.

It is not in my nature to give up on life, so I try to take it one day at time. The posts on this message board have been great, I do not feel alone anymore. I thought I would share my story and introduce myself.

Thanks,

Todd

Hiya, Todd!! I'm Harley!! I'm 27yrs old and I'm in Los Angeles. I've had chronic pain and now chronic fatigue for the past 5yrs. I don't have any answers as to what's wrong with me, and that's what hurts the most. I go to school (or try to) for Astronomy and Astrophysics. I'm a scientist, and to be labeled as a "faker" because nobody can come with answers and I do all the research is a real pain in the, well, you get the idea.

Anyways, I wanted to be one of the first to welcome you to this board! I've found such great support here! There's nothing quite like talking to someone else who knows exactly how you feel and not someone who just says it. I always found it annoying when someone says, "I know how it feels." when, in all honesty, they don't. Anywho.. welcome! Smiler

Much luv,
Harley

you don't have to be faster than the bear, you simply need to be faster than the slowest person running from the bear.
