I'm a wife to a 35 year old chronic pain sufferer and as I type this he is lying next to me talking and laughing in his sleep. Why? I'm not sure. He suffered a self-inflicted accidental gunshot wound to the abdomen when he was 15. Treating his pain is wearing me down and I'm looking to hear how SO deal with the frustration of having a loved one in constant pain. I look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to ChronicPainConnection! We'll do our best to give you whatever help and encouragement we can.

Browse through the various topics here in the forum then jump in and ask any questions you might have. Or if your question doesn't fit a current topic, start a new thread and ask whatever you want. The folks here are great about trying to help and encourage one another.

If you haven't already done so, I would suggest you check out the SharePosts written by others in similar circumstances. Just go to the ChronicPainConnection homepage and click on the green button that says "See Latest SharePosts." There you will see a box just to the right of the SharePosts that says, "View SharePosts From people who are:" Try selecting "Friend/Family" and/or "Caregiver" to read posts from others who have loved ones living in chronic pain.

There's also an excellent book by Gregg Piburn on the subject that you might find helpful: Beyond Chaos: One Man's Journey Alongside His Chronically Ill Wife.

Let us know how we can help.
Karen
