Im Justin, and I am 24 years old.By my 22nd birthday I had 5 knee surgeries.Mostly due to football related injuries and bmx bike riding.

A few years back I started having horrible back pain.Over the course of the last 3-4 years they have found 3 bulging discs in my back...2 lower and 1 upper.

Multiple doctors have told me until they fully herniate surgery is out of the question.I have tried a tens unit,a back brace, and many different medications.

They now have me on 80mgs a day of Morphine, and taking percoset for the break through pain.

If i stay in my recliner all day,or do very minimal stuff around the house I feel okay on these medications. However,if I go tot he groccery store to pick up a few things.within 30-40 minutes time I am in so much pain I can hardly walk,stand,sit...anything.

I am a bit overweight...I am 6'3" and weigh 338lbs.My knees have been causing me sooo much pain lately Its difficult to get up from my chair or to sit back down into it.so,i know my weight doesnt help the situation...but,its a vicious cycle....sort of hard to work and lose the weight when I hurt too bad to work out.

I have been on disability for 2 years now due to some issues I suffer from being bipolar.so,that doesnt really make it very easy at times to handle the stress, and frustration the pain causes me.

At 24 years old,I cannot physically work a part time job and nothing the doctors have done or are doing for me is working.

I have had multiple facet and other injections in my back.

on top of that I now have been suffering from a problem with my left arm.The only way I can even describe it is it feels exactly like the RLS I had when I was in highschool, except now its in my left arm. There are nights I would much rather chop my arm right off then deal with the intense discomfort.

Is there any medications,treatments...anything out there I should be looking into.I see a pain doctor at a pain institute here on a regular basis and feel as though we are getting nowhere.

I want to be able to have children soemday and be able to be ana ctive part of their lives...play with them, and watch them grow up.The way I feel now I almost think Ill be wheel chair or bed ridden and in the worst pain ever by time I reach 30.

Please Help....

Hey Justin, Sorry that nobody has welcomed you to our pain site yet. You certainly have a lot to deal with. Has your doctor suggested a nerve stimulator or maybe a pain pump? Have you tried physical therapy yet? I myself have had five back surgeries and still have bad pain. I don't know what else to suggest, but want you to know that you are not alone. Feel free to vent anytime you need to. It helps me when I do. Good luck. Scooter

Hey Justin, Welcome to our pain site. Sorry it has taken so long for you to get a response. There is more activity in the sharepost area. More people respond when people write shareposts. I'm so sorry for all the pain you are suffering. The only suggestions I can think of are a nerve stimulator, a pain pump, and physical therapy. I've had five back surgeries and they certainly didn't take away my pain. I needed the surgeries, but now I have scar tissue wrapped around the nerve roots. I wish I could do something for you. Good luck. Scooter
