I am a 29yr old with chronic back pain, which has been persistant for over 15 yrs. I have had x rays that show no serious injuries or problems, but the pain continues. I have tried chiropractic therapy & anti-inflamitory meds, both of which helped only a little and never got rid of the actual pain. I live a healthy lifestyle with a decent diet, lots of water and a regular work out routine 3-4 x's a week including cardio, strength training, stretching and back strengthening excercises. I always felt that I didn't want to rely on pain meds. for the rest of my life just so I would be comfortable everyday, but feel now that that mey be my only choice. I have been to my family doctor a few times complaining of the pain, however he seems to be unwilling to perscribe anything, instructing instead to use OTC pain meds, which by the way is a joke; they do nothing for me. I'm looking into possibly seeing a differnt doc. that might be willing to perscribe something for the pain, as it seems to be the only affective way for me to manage it.
