I am new to this board, although frequent the migraine connect. I have fibromyalgia and chronic migraines. Officially diaglnosed a decade ago, although presented with symptoms when I was around 12. Right now I am on a temporary leave of absesence from work due to the migraines and the fact they are diffiuclt to treat. I will be going for botox shots for that and am taking toradol in the interm. For FMS I am not on any treatment... mostly because I have been over the last five or so years been on a lot of migraine meds. I am thinking on going on that new med, Lyrica, because it is said to help with both and I am seriously having issues with pain, never mind the other symptoms. Anyway, that is where I am right now. Would be very pleased to have something to even just slightly dampen the pain of FMS and the migraines, just enough that I can actually walk short distances without being crippled, or walk outside into the sunlight without stabbing pain.

Welcome to ChronicPainConnection, Nanners. We're glad to have you join us. It sounds like some here may already know you, but for the others, would you mind sharing what chronic pain illnesses or issues you are dealing with? While my area of expertise is fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, I do my best to help with any chronic pain issues.

We'll look forward to talking with you more.

Hi Karen...I am one of those lucky people with a whole lexicon of Ills...Diabetes, fibro, slight siezures, migraines, IBS, sleep apnea,Neuropathy, high blood pressure, allergies,Thyroid disorder....Did I miss any thing??? I'll remember it later....Oh ADHD...chronic obesity..

TB(tired backside)...and even a heart murmer....but I usually tell people I just haven't the heart to move...

The fibro usually only acts up badly when I am under stress...I hate drama!! The IBS goes with that.(fibro and IBS both answer nicely to Magnesium,) ..I wish I could say....so do the migraines. But they don't I take Neurontin & Klonopin for ..The siezures ---

high blood pressure seem to go with the diabetes(Controled most times with diet, cinnamon and exercise..to hot right now for exercise, to much so am on half a glucophage with that!) and the weight problem seems to go with the sleep apnea (Cpap)and diabetes.Does that all make sense??????

I'm lucky I can pack all that around!!! I should rattle when I walk!
Hugs
Nanners

Hey Nanners,

Wow! You do have quite an assortment of health issues to deal with. I have a few, but you've got me beat.

You seem to have a great attitude and sense of humor, which is soooo important. I've found that a positive attitude makes a huge difference in how I feel. And laughter really does help our bodies to heal –– so keep it up!

I'm delighted to have you as part of our forum and hope you'll visit frequently.
