How high are you, I mean hi how are you I have had two spine surgeries in the last 60 days. The first was to implant a titanium device called the XSTOP. iT WAS IMPLANTED AT L-4 L-5, and was supposed to relieve pain radiating down my hips and legs due to spinal stenosis. It came out of place about 4 weeks after surgery, and had to be removed. My surgeon said he would do a laminectomy and fusion at the same time the implant was removed. When I woke up from the surgery, I found out that he did not do any futher procedures. When asked why, he said that I had too much degeneration of the vertebra above the site, and he felt that a laminectomy would also fail, as did the XSTOP implant because of the degeneration of my spine. He has now handed me off to a pain doctor with a reccomendation of a morphine pump implant. After reading the many posts about the pump on this site, I feel confused. It seems that many people are helped by it, but just as many have had serious problems, and wish they never would have done it. Can anyone give me a consensus, or an objective read on this type of pain treatment, versus traditional oral meds?
