Hi, I have sat here and read all the post from all the pages, you guys are great! I'm seeing a PM Doc on Wed. for a Morphine pump and I was hoping some one might know what type of battery is used in it? I have a Cholear Implant(Cyber-ear) that uses a regular AA battery. The problem is I can't have a MIR or any type of electro-surgery or it will blow my implant. It is a very involved surgery since they have to go into my Cerb-cortex so I don't want to have that surgery again. I'm sure you all will tell me to ask the Doc but I st thought someone might know befor hand. It's a very long drive to the doc's and I'm trying not to wast any more time. I've been playing this horrible pain game for so long I just am trying not to waste even more time in the office visit...I must have seen 100 doc's since this started in the early 80's. Sitting in a car for even half and hour kills me! Thank you very much you are all very kind to each other, Teresa

Hi Teresa,

Welcome to the ChronicPainConnection forum. I'm afraid I can't answer your question since I've never had a pump, however, I wanted to let you know that you might get a faster answer if you post your question under the thread "Willing to share experience with intrathecal morphine pump implant" which is just a couple below your new thread. I know there are so many posts there already, you might feel you'll get lost in the shuffle, but Bob does a great job of checking for new posts on that particular thread regularly. He seems to know a great deal about morphine pumps and can probably answer your question.

Hello, I'm new too, and I'm not Karen, but I thought I'd try to help real quick, so you can carry on.
If you scroll up to the top of the page and place your mouse arrow on General Discussion in the line of pages at the top of this page, it will take you back to the general discussion page and you can then scroll down or up to the thread discussion on Pain Pumps. Wink

Good luck, and it's nice to meet you
Betty
